Due to COVID-19, the English language program we support is being offered virtually to refugee students in Greece.
When it became clear that in-person classes wouldn’t be possible due to the pandemic, our partner organization quickly transitioned to online classes. First serving one refugee camp, the virtual programming is now being expanded to include residents in the urban area. All this was possible due to our partner’s strong bonds with the refugees they work with and help from refugee student ambassadors!
We knew the importance of resuming classes since the classrooms we support are spaces which enable refugees to regain agency and re-engage in learning. We focus on quality and ensure classes are taught by qualified teachers.
The curriculum follows the Cambridge Empower Syllabus and the Common European Framework of Reference, which is adapted to the needs of the students.

GREEK LANGUAGE PROGRAM
Since the majority of the students at our partner organization are claiming asylum in Greece, learning Greek is an important step towards integration.
The Greek language program we support has a syllabus and approach tailored to the unique needs of refugee learners. The classes are delivered by qualified Greek language teachers to adult learners (age 15+). The program builds confidence and helps people communicate in their daily life in Greece.
